The month on month eurozone Industrial Production measures change in the total inflation-adjusted value of output produced by manufacturers, mines and utilities; 'June compared to May 2011 dropped by 0.7% in the euro area', eurostat news release reports.
Economists were expecting Industrial production to fall nonetheless, but only by 0.1%.
In June 2011, Industrial Production in Europe increased by 2.9% compared to last year's month of June.
