The Eurostat reported that annual inflation in euro area fell to 2.7%. Analysts expected inflation at 2.8% level. November’s data showed CPI increase to 3%.
As for 2012 Consumer Price Inflation is estimated for 2% and 2013- 1.5%, according to ECB.
Core CPI reminded steady at 1.6% in line with expectations.
Euro held on gains against dollar after report release, the couple EUR/USD was traded at 1.2789.
Earlier today Bank of England reported sharp inflation decrease in UK in December. CPI fell to annual 4.2%, down from 4.8% in November.
