Index Ifo, which reflects confidence of German businessman improved slightly to 109.8 points in March from 109.7 previous month.
Analysts expected a reading of 109.6 in March.
Ifo index is based on monthly survey of seven thousands businessman, asked about orders, stock, production level, prices or employment.
The index of business expectations increased also in March and reached 102.7 points, in line with expectations, from 102.4 in February.
The couple EUR/USD fell to 1.3236 in the early afternoon trade.
