In May retail sales in Switzerland increased by seasonally adjusted 0.1%. Previous month data was revised today to 1.3% decrease. Comparing with May 2011 retail sales volume in Switzerland improved by 6.2%, after gaining 0.2% annual rate on April- Federal Statistics Office informed today. Data came as a surprise to economists, who forecasted reading higher by only 2.1%.
