Consumer confidence index jumps to 56 from 40.9....

USA: Customer Confidence Index improves

Consumer Confidence Index is a monthly report issued by an independent economic research organization called The Conference Board.

Official data showed today indicates an increase.The Index now stands at 56, up from 40.9 in October, rising to the highest level since July.

Experts had predicted the index to rise by 2.1 points to 43.0 in current month.

Customer Financial confidence is a leading indicator of consumer spending, which leads to overall economic activity growth.

At the time of news release the US dollar remained weaker versus its major rivals, with EUR/USD edging up 0.12% trading at 1.3336.
